The Good Father Launch
The Good Father was launched on 24th October at Newcastle Waterstones - a reading, question and answer session and a few bottles of wine. My 4th book launch and the most enjoyable, even with the stress and panic of getting lost in Newcastle city centre's one way system and arriving with seconds to spare rather than being calm and unrushed and early. The next day I drove my publisher Hazel Cushion back down to South Wales for a bit of Welsh book-signing and a reading in the Dylan Thomas Centre in Swansea.
Now the excitement of my road trip is over it's back to the task of promoting. However, it seems October is a bad month to release a book - bookshops insist it is now Christmas and can't cope with my requests for signings...Try again in January...
Main news (apart from The Good Father - did I mention that I have a new book out...?) is that I've been taken on as a tutor for The Open University's Creative Writing Course, so have been busy learning the OU's IT system. Also am about to start teaching on the MA in Creative Writing at Teesside University from January 08.
