How do I turn on JavaScript^® in my browser?

Browsers that support JavaScript allow you to take advantage of advanced features on our website, including drop-down menus for easy navigation. If you have problems viewing the drop-down menus, you probably have JavaScript turned off in your browser, or your browser doesn’t support JavaScript. If your browser is listed below, it supports JavaScript. If you’re not using one of these browsers, see our instructions about updating your browser. If you use one of these browsers but still cannot see JavaScript features, JavaScript may be turned off in your browser.

To turn on JavaScript, follow the directions below:

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x and 6.x (Windows)

• Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
• Click the Security tab.
• Click Custom Level in Security Level for this Zone.
• Scroll down to Scripting, near the bottom of the list.
• Under Active Scripting, choose Enable.
• Click OK to leave Security Settings. Click OK to leave Internet Options.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x (Macintosh)

• Choose Preferences under the Explorer menu.
• Click Web Content under Web Browser.
• In Active Content, check the box next to Enable scripting.
• In Java, click Enable Java. Click OK.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x (Windows)

• Select Internet Options from the View menu.
• Click the Security tab.
• Set the security level for this zone to Custom (for expert users).
• Click the Settings button (to the right of Custom).
• Scroll to the bottom of the list and enable Active scripting.
• Click the OK button to close the Security Settings window. Click OK to close the Internet Options window.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x (Macintosh)

• Click the Preferences icon in the Toolbar.
• Click the Web Content icon under Web Browser.
• In Active Content, check the box next to Enable scripting. Click the OK button.

Netscape 7.x (Windows)

• Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
• Click Advanced on the left side of the dialog box.
• Check the box next to Enable Java. Click the OK button.

Netscape 6.x (Windows, Macintosh)

• Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
• Click Advanced on the left side of the dialog box.
• Check the box next to Enable JavaScript for Navigator. Click the OK button.

Netscape Navigator/Communicator 4.x (Windows, Macintosh)

• Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
• Click Advanced on the left side of the dialog box.
• Check the box next to Enable JavaScript. Click the OK button.

America Online (Windows, Macintosh)

• JavaScript is always on.

Mozilla Firefox 1.5

• Select Options... from the Tools drop-down menu.
• Select the Content section from the options at the top of the pop-up page.
• Check the “Block pop-up windows,” “Load images automatically” and “Enable JavaScript” boxes.
• Click OK.

Safari 1.x (Macintosh)

• Select Preferences... from the Safari drop-down menu.
• Select the Security section from the options at the top of the pop-up page.
• Under “Web Content,” check the “Enable plug-ins,” “Enable Java” and “Enable JavaScript” boxes.
• Close the Security window.
